Eat Your Feelings

If I could change the world,

I’d have clouds become cotton candy,

And whenever my hands reach upwards to the sky,

Fingers extended ever so high,

I’d pluck a piece and gobble up,

That sweet, sticky, sugary delight.

I’d turn guns into flowers,

And bullets into sighs,

So when shots are fired,

Where blood would be wrought,

Will be tender, loving kisses

Your anger, all for naught.

I’d have white become black,

And form black into ecru,

Interchanging each color,

Least they become duller,

Dipping my fingers into every last one,

And painting the world to form you.

When I think about changing myself,

Well,

I think about a lot of things,

Fleeting and superficial,

Deep and emotional,

Ever so changing-

The things that I like about myself.

But if I could change the world,

I’d have clouds become cotton candy,

And whenever my hands reach upwards to the sky,

Fingers extended ever so high,

I’d pluck a piece and gobble up,

That sweet, sticky, sugary delight.
