Why I hate…

| March 16, 2018 | 0 Comments

There are seagulls.

And they are some mean motherfuckers.

I saw one swoop

and steal a young boy’s fries.

It’s too crowded.

So much that with all the sweat we produce

we form our own sea

of people.

Side by side

beach towel next to beach towel,

my body wants to curl in on itself

and form a                                                                                          solitary island

in this supposed oasis.

I hate the sun.

There’s no cover to protect you

besides a measly umbrella

and so you’re left with a lasting mark

weeks after you leave

…the beach.
